| The excellent homogeneousness
of PM-Steels compared with conventionally produced material features
a more homogeneous structure and consequently improved isotropic properties.
Furthermore the large content by volume of carbides in the Saramet-PM-alloys combined with a structural hardness of 50-62 HRc warrant a high wear resistance and a long life of the tools. |
From the above properties of the materials follow naturally
their applications.
We produce Saramet-PM-alloys for applications in the hot and cold deformation
technology (section Roll rings, guide Roll rings, etc.) as well as for cold
working tools and cutting tools.
We also supply alloys containing 11,5 to 22 weight percent of chromium which
have a higher chemical resistance and due to their content of chromium of
more than 12 weight percent can be rated as corrosion resistant.
This additional advantage accounts for the frequent use of the material in the chemical, petrochemical and the food industry.
