Oxide Ceramics::
When injection moulding ceramic parts, abrasion causes a rapid
wear of the extrusion tools. Compared with the average life of
700 h for steel tools, our cemented carbide tools have totaled
a 50 times longer running time.
Problems such as the abrasion of metallic particles, their penetration
into the ceramic moulding material, the ensuing impurity and pigmentation
of the finished product – a common phenomenon with steel
tools – could be eliminated by using cemented carbide tools.
Permanent Magnets:
The production of barium-, strontium- and rare earth-based magnets
is subject to a heavy wear of the screws and the cylinders. Conventional
steel extrusion sets were worn after 800–1000 hours of use
in the entry zone, whereas our cemented carbide tools have totaled
a running time of 23000 h since 1987.
Cemented Carbides:
When injection moulding cemented carbide
parts, cemented carbide extrusion sets have proved to be extremely
efficient. Well-known cemented carbide producers have used our
extrusion sets for years, whereas steel tools were no longer usable
after 3–4 month running time.
